  1. Hey Jackie, this is awesome! You are going to do great with this! Enjoy and I am looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

  2. Jackie,
Your Story Stones are beautiful. How can I subscribe to your blog? I do not use Facebook so I cannot contact you through it. Thank you for sharing your ideas.
    Have a beautiful day,

    Debbie

    • Hi Debbie, Thank you so much for your kind words. I’m so glad you enjoyed checking us out! If you’d like to have updates emailed to you, you can subscribe that way. In the right hand column of my blog, a little ways down the page (under my blogroll and under the Quirky Momma tag), you should see a little tab that says “Subscribe by email”. Just click on the “sign me up” button, and you should be good to go! Hope that works for you! Thanks for dropping by. :)

    • Thank you for your kind comments, Vera. I had to pop over and see your blog. It is just beautiful. I absolutely love your creative ideas! Those knitted tails are adorable. My hooligans would LOVE to run around with those on. ANd I absolutely LOVE how you sewed and stuffed your little one’s drawings! Your blog is very inspirational!

  3. Thank you for starting the blog! I am in love with it. You do so much for these kids. Their parents are really lucky to have you, I mean it. I have already used a few of your ideas. Thanks again! Danielle

  4. Danielle, thank you so much! It means so much to me to hear such sweet words, and to know that you’re enjoying the blog so much. I’m so happy to know that you’ve been inspired to to some of the activities at your house! I love this blog community for that reason – we all inspire each other, and give each other ideas that we might not have thought up on our own. Thank you again for your thoughtful comment! Happy Playing!!

  5. I am absolutely in love with this blog, and I’m amazed at the different things you do! (Just recently found you due to someone pinning your various homemade ornament ideas.) As a former biology teacher, and now stay-at-home-mom to a 3.5 yr old and a 1 yr old, I love anything hands-on and messy! :) I haven’t had the opportunity to go waaay back on your blog, but would love to see some of your storage and organization for the “stuff!” And once again, thank you thank you thank you again for your inspiration and creativity!

    • Thank you so much, Megan! I just love hearing about it when someone loves what they see here! I haven’t really done a post on organization. I’m fairly anal and organized here though, and at the end of the day, I don’t want to feel like I live in a daycare (lol), so it all gets packed away in armoirs, cupboards, drawers etc. Clear containers are a lifesaver for miscellaneous supplies. They stack nicely and make it easy to find things. I guess I really should do a post on organization one day.

  6. Thank you so much for taking the time to blog all this great stuff!!!!!! I am taking classes to open my own home daycare. I am excited and totally petrified all at the same time. I work in a preschool that use all pre-made crafts, pre printed coloring pages, and the children are NEVER allowed to do anything messy. I have worked there for 7 years and we have done the same dittos, Oriental Trading crafts and printed off tracing pages every year. It makes me absolutely CRAZY! I cant wait to be able to be creative and have fun with my kids!!!

    Lots of love and hugs,

    • Wow, Jo! I can see why it would drive you crazy! You must be just bursting to get started!! I’m so excited for you to be breaking out of the “cookie cutter” environment you’ve been in! You’ll have a blast getting creative and messy with the little ones! Let me know when you get things up and running! You’re always welcome to ask questions, share ideas, post pics of your crafts and activities on my Happy Hooligans facebook wall!
Good luck Jo! Keep me posted on how you’re doing!
